Life At Ashton Medical Lodge
Our Life Enrichment Coordinator and a Wellness Assistant are dedicated to supporting our residents. They usually get to join in 4-6 planned activities daily, which include interactive cooking classes, music sessions, church services, aromatherapy, and more. Our Life Works Wellness Program emphasizes the five dimensions of wellness.
Physical Wellness
Our physical wellness activities promote involvement in physical activity groups to assist with improving and maintaining cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance, and flexibility. These classes encourage personal safety and promote healthy lifestyle habits. Activities include Body Works Exercise, Sport Fitness, Music & Movement, Sensory Shape-Up, and Maintenance.
Emotional Wellness
Our emotional wellness activities help residents manage their feelings and behaviors, express their feelings, control stress, and work on problem-solving. Activities include Music Works, Music & Memory, and Memories in the Making.
Social Wellness
Our social wellness activities encourage and emphasize creating and maintaining healthy relationships through talking, sharing hobbies and interests, and actively participating in social events. Activities include Wellness-on-Wheels visits, Life Story Social, entertainment, and celebrations.
Intellectual Wellness
Our intellectual wellness activities encourage residents to expand their knowledge, improve and maintain their cognitive functioning level through various problem-solving activities, educational resources, and cultural activities. Activities include Mind Works, Wellness University, and Health Education.
Vocational Wellness
Our vocational wellness activities assist residents in the process of determining and achieving personal and occupational interests. Activities include Art Works, Chef’s Corner, Nature Works, Community Works, and Resident Council.
